If the wheel firmware update fails through the PXN SimRacing software, you can manually update the W AS firmware by following these steps:

1. Download the firmware
Download the latest W AS firmware from the PXN download page:

2. Enter firmware update mode
Press and hold all XYAB buttons on the W AS wheel, then connect the wheel to your PC using the USB cable.

3. Start the update
Continue holding the buttons until the green breathing light appears, then release the buttons. Click Start Update and wait until the progress reaches 100%.

The PXN W AS steering wheel requires connection with a compatible PXN wheel base before use. Follow these steps to install the wheel:

1. Align the 6/4 steel beads on the quick-release hub with the matching grooves on the wheel base.
2. Press the orange locking mechanism toward the steering wheel.
3. Push the wheel fully into the base, then release the orange mechanism. The quick release will automatically lock.

To remove the wheel, press the orange locking mechanism and pull the wheel outward.

After installation, pull the steering wheel backward firmly to confirm it is securely attached. If it feels loose, slightly rotate the wheel or reinstall it and check again.

If the W AS steering wheel is not paired after installation, follow these steps to complete forced pairing:

1. Install the steering wheel on the PXN wheel base. If pairing is incomplete, the RPM indicators will flash.
2. Press and hold [LSB + DRS] until the RPM indicators flash rapidly, then release the buttons.
3. Disconnect and reconnect the Type-C cable on the back of the wheel base.
4. Wait for the pairing process to complete. The RPM indicators will remain solid when the connection is successful.

To set up the PXN W AS steering wheel, first connect the wheel to your PXN wheel base and open the PXN SimRacing software.

1. Configure wheel settings in PXN SimRacing

• Check that the wheel is detected correctly.
• Adjust the steering angle according to the game. For example, a 360° setting can be used for Formula-style racing, while higher angles may suit GT or other racing titles.
• Test all buttons, magnetic shifters, dual clutch paddles, and rotary encoders in the button test page.
• Adjust RPM light settings, including brightness, lighting modes, and shift indicator behavior.
• Configure clutch paddle mode as linked or independent, and calibrate the paddles if needed.
• Create and save game-specific presets for wheel, pedals, and button mappings.
  

2. Configure controls in-game

• Assign frequently used functions to standard buttons, such as pit limiter, headlights, wipers, and camera controls.
• Use rotary encoders for adjustable driving settings like brake bias, traction control, ABS, and engine settings.
• Assign magnetic shifters for gear changes and clutch paddles for clutch input, including manual starts and launch control.
• Save your in-game control profile after mapping all required functions.
